Alba and the Barolo area

The Piedmontese Wine Country is characterized by hills covered by vineyards and castles. It’s the land of truffles and great Piedmontese wines, since June 2014 UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The visit begins with Alba and its fascinating medieval historic center, sporting high brick towers, buildings enriched with artistic friezes and the imposing Cathedral of Saint Lorenzo.

After lunch visit of the  Grinzane Cavour Castle, which belonged to Camillo Benso, Count of Cavour, a famous italian statesman. The Castle is the seat of the Ethnological Museum and of the Enoteca Regionale, a high level wine shop owning a stock of vintage wines of great value.

It is a must to end the tour with a wine tasting in a local cellar !
